Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) News

Our parish RCIA will resume September 25, 2014 and will culminate with the celebration of Initiation Sacraments at the Easter Vigil on Saturday April 4, 2015.  RCIA is the process of becoming a Catholic or completing your Initiation Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion).    In addition, if you were baptized a Catholic but never received Confirmation or First Communion, RCIA will prepare you for those sacraments.  Sessions will meet most Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM in the rectory basement meeting room.  To make an appointment with Deacon Mike Franks to discuss please call the rectory (215) 679-9275 by September 15 and Deacon Mike will contact you.

Team 1 is in need of some additional help, beginning on September, 7, 2014.  As a team member you would be asked to volunteer on the first Sunday of the month every fourth month.  For more information, please call Rita at 215-679-7009.

St. Philip  Neri Bible Study will be offering a new class starting Thursday, January evenings (7:00 p.m.) and the same Study for Friday mornings (9:00 a.m. with the exception of First Friday - class will begin at 10:00 am).  We meet at St. Philip Neri Center located in East Greenville.  The classes will last for ten (10)  week and will finish up the week before Holy week - providing there are no cancellations due to bad weather.
We will be studying
James:  Pearls for Wise Living.  James is one of the most practical books of the Bible.  Like the book of Proverbs, it a book of winsdom, a collection of teachings on issues faced by ordinary Christians in everyday life.  These teachings speak loudly to all those who feel torn between the competing demands of this world and their faith.

This study offers "pearls for wise living" by applying the wisdom of James to the present.  For anyone who has struggled to live a truly Christian life James offers a wealth of practical solutions for handling and even sanctifying everyday circumstances.
The cost of the Study Books
is $30; checks made payable to St. Philip Neri church.  Couples may share the same study materials for no additional costs. Contact Joan Lampart at 215-529-5686 or email: jmlampart@verizon.net.

The Fall Bereavemenet Support Group will meet on Thursday, September 11, 2014 and each Thursday thereafter through October 24, 2014.  We will meet in the Parish Outreach Office, which is located through the glass door (middle door) of the rectory building.  We will meet from 10:00 to11:30 am.

If you plan to attend, call the Parish Outreach Office at: 215.679.2282.  If no answer, speak very slowly, and leave a message.  Call on or before September 4.

The Garden Club works on the grounds every Wednesday (April - October) from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm weather pending.

Attention Parishioners…are you looking for a way to give back to the Parish?  We are seeking volunteers to help with the SPN Catholic Family Life Center Library.  The books will be available during class times on Friday evenings (7-8pm) and Saturday mornings (10-11am).  No experience is necessary!
